Personal Bio:

My career in volleyball started with rec league when I was 9 years old. My big sister played, so I naturally wanted to do whatever she did. I was a swimmer as well, but volleyball quickly became my love. Rec league soon led to playing club volleyball by the time I was 11, and I thought it was the best thing in the world! By middle school, I realized that the setter ran the show, and to me, was the most important person on the court! I was the primary setter both of my middle school years, and worked hard to get better and better. For the last two years, I have played for the newest and now biggest club in North Alablama, United Volleyball Club. I have been one of the starting setters on both the 16 National and now 17 National Teams. Though my 16’s season was cut short by a freak knee injury doing sprints, my meniscus was repaired, healed fully, and hasn’t slowed me down! Our current club season, on 17’s will include national level tournaments in Atlanta, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Gulf Shores, and Chicago. I will continue to update my highlights as the season goes on.

My philosophy as a setter: I love being a setter! I love the responsibility of being able to set the tone for the team. When people are struggling, I try to lift them up. When something isn’t working against a team we are playing, I get to alter our game plan. I love calling plays, reading what the blockers are doing, and getting to transition to defense or blocking in addition to setting. In college, I want to play for a team where I can put all the knowledge I have gained from years of play to good use. Our coaches at United have spectacular amounts of technical know-how that they work hard to pass on to us. And I look forward to finding coaches in college who can help me learn more to be the best player I can be.
